Welcome
Welcome to the Happy Hands Dorridge Pre-school website. We are a pre-school and ‘Stay & Play’ in Dorridge, located in St Philips Church’s on Manor Road.
We are one of most established Pre-Schools in the country and have been educating, entertaining and supporting the children in the Knowle, Dorridge, Hockley Heath and surrounding villages for more than 40 years.
We now have an established 'Stay & Play' on a Wednesday morning (term times only, 9.30 - 11am in the same location) for children up to 2 and a half years old, with their parents or carers. The ‘Stay & Play’ also acts as a natural stepping stone to our Pre-School.
Happy Hands Pre-School is a registered charity and is registered under the 'Children's Act 1989'.
Please arrange to visit us with your child to see Pre-school in operation. You can visit as often as you feel is necessary before your child starts. You and your child will be made very welcome!
For further information, please use the menu above to browse this site. You can find our prospectus (including details of our fees), details of where we are, find out how to contact us and read up on our policies and procedures.

We are accredited by the 'Pre-School Learning Alliance', an accreditation which confirms the provision of quality education and care in accordance with the required standards. Additionally we are also subject to Ofsted inspection, with the last inspection report being available through the link in the ‘Pre-School’ section above.
We welcome children of pre-school age (from 2 1/2 to 5 years) and can accommodate 36 children per session. Pre-school is run by experienced staff who hold relevant childcare qualifications, First Aid certificates and who have lots of enthusiasm for their work!
Happy Hands Pre-School provides a happy, safe and stimulating environment for each child. They have the opportunity to explore and develop their social, physical, communicative and creative skills, together with learning about literacy, mathematics, and knowledge and understanding of the world, through play. These key areas of the tailored curriculum lead towards the Early Learning Goals, in preparation for the National Curriculum at school.
“An excellent playgroup provision meeting the needs of all children who attend”
A significant strength of the setting is that children learn trough well-planned play, choosing the activities they want to participate in and adults observe and intervene only when necessary”
“The staff work very well as a team and offer lots of praise and encouragement to the children”
